Why a Club?
A club offers the opportunity to carefully select members and guarantee compatibility amongst riders. Having a filter in place and limiting the club membership size is how we can always guarantee a great adventure is had by all. Too many riders, or incompatible riders, undermines a great riding experience. We’ve found that combining a group of likeminded riders in epic locations, at the right time of year, on a well planned route is the key to success. The ADV Moto Club brings riders together with a bond and similar approach to their ADV riding ambitions.
How does it work?
Membership numbers are capped to guarantee we can maintain and deliver the best possible riding experience for all members. Club members have access to four riding opportunities throughout each year; three in the United States and one overseas. All ride planning, delivery and support is provided by the ADV Moto Club. Riders either use their own motorcycle or rent one through one of our partners. An annual membership subscription fee is required to join the club, and riders are billed for only the ride days attended.
The ADV Moto Club is just brilliant and like nothing else I have come across before. Every ride is meticulously planned and choreographed, and each ride offers a unique experience and challenge. The great thing is you have a full support structure around you, but you still have the opportunity to explore the routes at your own pace.

Prior to the formation of Backcountry Expeditions in 2017, our two- and four-wheel expeditionary experience was honed in a military context. With almost 50 years collective experience in planning and delivering global operations, we turned our attention to training and running tours in the western United States. Between 2017 and 2023, we successfully delivered more than 100 motorcycle expeditions covering 500,000+ miles of backcountry adventures. We now focus our attention on running the best possible adventure motorcycle club for our members.
Should I consider joining?
The ADV Moto Club is limited in numbers to protect the experience of all our members, but we are always looking for applicants to join when a place becomes available. If you have the time, knowledge, experience and inclination to plan your own ADV rides, then this might not be for you. But if you're looking for an organization to provide four great riding opportunities each year, with the knowledge that safety and support is assured, and that you’ll be in the company of like minded riders, we’d love to hear from you!

Great adventure riding experiences depend on the motorcycle, location, weather, planning & most importantly, the other riders involved. It is our goal to maintain a membership of respectful and considerate riders. You don’t have to be the best ADV rider, but you do have to be a team player.

ADV Moto Club rides are fun and enjoyable. Neil does a great job to meticulously plan every trip, morning detailed briefs; while the support truck is always nearby. Neil ensures every rider is looked after during rides and post rides.
